The Blend
The Stomach Settler is a warming, aromatic bottle for the hour after eating. Galangal, ginger, cardamom, ajwain and aged mandarin peel come from the kitchens and medicine shelves of South and East Asia; meadowsweet and chamomile arrive from European practice to round it out.
It tastes like the inside of a good spice drawer — bright, resinous and faintly citrus. Take it slowly, and preferably sitting down, which is half the point.
Traditionally Associated With
These seven plants are drawn from traditional digestive preparations and are historically associated with nausea, bloating, gas, mild cramping and general digestive discomfort. The blend records that heritage; it does not diagnose or treat a digestive condition, and persistent discomfort belongs with a doctor.

Botanical Wisdom
Aged mandarin peel
Chen pi is one of the quiet luxuries of Chinese household medicine: mandarin peel dried and then set aside for years, sometimes decades, until the sharp citrus oils soften into something deeper and more resinous. Cooks use it in red-braised dishes; herbalists keep it for the stomach. A jar of properly aged peel is passed down rather than bought, which makes it a lovely thing to find in a modern bottle.
A Note from the Herbalist
“Ginger is the first herb I ever trusted. This blend is what I reach for after a long drive, a late dinner, or a meal cooked by someone with more enthusiasm than restraint.”
